We love our wax melts and we want you to love them too. There are a few things you need to know to get the very best out of your melts and burner.
- Always follow the manufacturer instructions for your chosen wax melt burner. Never be tempted to use a larger tea light than the size recommended. Doing so can result in overheating which can make the hot wax “spit” or even crack the burner.
- Store wax melts in a cool, dark and dry place with the lid on to keep them clean of dust and debris, and to help protect the wax and fragrance. Highly fragrant wax melts have a life span of 6 to 12 months, depending on the scent. If you enjoy wax melts, then use and replace them often to avoid deterioration in appearance and performance.
- Keep your wax melt burner on even, solid surfaces and make sure they are completely upright.
- Never wash or dispense spent wax melts down the sink or drain. The wax will solidify and block the pipes over time. Wait for the wax to cool and solidify, then it can be easily removed.
For wax melt burners with tea-lights:
- Remove any debris left in the wax pool such as wick trimmings or matches. Any debris will add more fuel to the candle than it’s designed to handle. Too much fuel can cause the flame to unexpectedly flare up or even start a small fire near the candle flame.
- When using a burner with a candle, avoid proximity to fans, air conditioners, open windows, or crowded areas with people walking back and forth. Moving air can disturb the flame, resulting in those yucky black marks.
- Keep your burning candles on even, solid surfaces and make sure they are completely upright.
